Natural Dog Food is a Dog’s Way to a Natural Life

More than ever, people are striving to live a natural way of life. Natural, organic food, holistic medicine, fresh air and exercise, have become a way of life for many. Don’t our dogs deserve the same?

Not only that, but the dangers of commercial pet foods are moving dog owners towards a healthier way of living for their dogs.

Some pet owners have started to make homemade food for their dogs, in an effort to feed their pets a healthier diet. Since making dog food is time consuming, buying natural or organic dog food is most of the time a better solution. The choices are many and sometimes confusing.

What’s Wrong with Commercial Dog Food?

Believe it or not, the most beautifully packaged pet food is not well regulated and most likely will contain preservatives, colorants, artificial flavors, contaminated meat, meat from diseased chickens and cattle, even euthanized cats and dogs.
The TV commercials and magazine ads might say that their food is the best because our dogs eat it and like it, but the dog food that we buy at the supermarket or pet store is not as good and nutritious as their manufacturers claim.
Ann Martin uncovered these facts in her 1997 book “Food Pets Die for: Shocking Facts About Pet Food”.
Since then, many responsible pet owners and small food companies have gotten on the natural bandwagon of healthy and natural pet food.
Nowadays the choices are broader than 10 years ago. Natural, raw and organic food are becoming more available and soon will become mainstream.
As responsible dog owners, it is our duty to care for our animals the way nature intended.
